For our part and for the people that we personally know, it is not a cultural thing at all. If the author of the article would like to provide for the economic and healthcare burden and well-being of elderly, then my husband and I will get on to tackling that 'problem'. 😉 But FWIW, I don't think having children is a problem that needs to be tackled, children should only be had when they are truly wanted and desired, loved, safe, and secure.

I have not been there for a very long time but we do now have access to Tik Tok which has been an eye opener.

 

More seriously all sorts of things have changed, and I am not sure which are more significant than others, but seems quite reasonable that there would be consequences, the vast vast majority just have to live in the current, what makes sense now, which is often different to what happened before.

That's not as far-fetched an idea as it sounds.  Uncoupled men who feel trapped need an outlet.
