Oh no, at worst a civil penalty I'm clutching my pearls...and that's only for those entry without inspection. So jaywalking.

Undocumented presence alone isn't a crime as well.

not at worst............

- Unlawful Presence (Civil Violation): Remaining in the U.S. after a visa has expired (a common scenario for nearly half of all undocumented immigrants) is a civil infraction. This is handled through civil removal (deportation) proceedings, which do not carry criminal penalties like prison time, though they can result in being barred from re-entry for a number of years.

- Improper Entry (Crime): The act of entering or attempting to enter the U.S. at a place not designated for inspection by immigration officers is a federal misdemeanor offense.

- Re-entry After Removal (Crime): If an individual has been previously formally removed (deported) from the U.S. and then returns without authorization, that is a felony offense

Oh you know immigration is much more complicated than just that. Especially with the stories we've seen here on VJ.

yet this isn't immigration - it's often economic migration.

Protesting = extremist activists. That's a stretch.

According this article, I count 18 people there. ~3000 ICE agents going after 18 people is an enormous waste of taxpayer funds. No one ever argues the point of deporting hardened criminals, going door to door though? That's not enforcement, even less so forcing themselves in, as they don't have judicial warrants. We're acting like these hardened criminals are hiding under floorboards or something but they're not, they know where they are.

From TRAC: "48,377 out of 65,735—or 73.6% held in ICE detention have no criminal conviction according to data current as of November 30, 2025. Many of those convicted committed only minor offenses, including traffic violations." They're also pulling agents from cases in ATF, FBI, HSI, DEA actually making real and bigger cases of real criminals, but sure, let's focus on Jose who's lived here for 20+ years and has a life established here with kids doing work that no other American is willing to do.

"Worst of the worst" if you say it repeatedly enough doesn't make it true. Political theater.

Love the strawman Jose.  So are you suggesting ICE should give up on any enforcement due to the Jose's out there?  Btw, I would like to know more about Jose.  How did he enter?  Did he repeatedly leave and re-enter?  Why hasn't he pursued legal avenues now that he is married to a USC?  Also, if you or others that support the Jose's really want to help, then like I said earlier, isn't it time to protest your congress members to change the laws to protect them.  Instead the extremist want to actively impede enforcement of existing laws.

Regardless, let's talk about the large amount of ICE/Federal agents in a city like Minneapolis.  Have you ever asked yourself why there are so many there?  I believe this has been talked about many times, but I expect the major factor is the leftist/Democrat sanctuary city play.  Do you support cities/states run by Democrats with their sanctuary city play?  Wouldn't cooperation by the local officials with respect to the worst of the worst protect the Jose's out there?  Would they need so many agents if the worst of the worst were handed over to ICE when their prison sentence is finished?

As to those in ICE detention, how many of these folks have been issued a removal order by an IJ?

Lastly, yes, when a protester graduates from protesting to impeding, assaulting, and eluding, then they go from "protestor" to "extremist".  This woman actively positioned the vehicle so the agent was directly in front of her, and who knows what was in her mind as her partner egged her to drive away.  We shall see what the investigation says, but that was one of the big questions in my mind (why the agent was in front of the vehicle) until I saw more videos showing it was the driver that made that happen.
