I would rather wait and see what happens over time rather than jump to conclusions after only a few days.  I heard the leftist pundit Jake Tapper calling for immediate elections, that is simply reckless given that this was not regime change, so time will tell.  Btw, I want to revisit the whole country building history discussion.  The US does have a few successes when the bureaucrats are not allowed to muck things up.  I would cite the ROK, Japan, and Germany as being successes.  The ROK especially given where they were at after the Korean War.  Of course that is another great example of socialism not working just like Venezuela.

ROK was not a success they're still "at war" Japan and Germany was in the 40's, 2 generations ago. Sure Maduro wasn't legitimate, but then why is Trump saying the VP should take charge then

OOPS!  New Poll of Venezuela's Neighbors Shows a SLIGHTLY Different Reaction to Maduro's Arrest

 

Nicolas Maduro had barely been put into handcuffs a few days ago before leftists in America began protesting and demanding his release.  We needn't tell anyone that most of those paid protesters shared a certain ... ahem ... paleness to their hue.

 

Capitol Hill wasn't much better, with John Fetterman being just about the only Democrat who could see the water's edge and applaud the US military for the amazing operation they had pulled off.

Naturally, the opinions of Venezuelans about the removal of a dictator who had destroyed their country were just a tad different from the woke AWFLs in Manhattan sipping their Starbucks as they screeched 'Stop the bombing!'  (The 'bombing,' of course, had already stopped while they were still sleeping off their Franzia hangover.)

I can't stop laughing at all the Democrats hyperventilating about President Trump's Venezuela operation.  I wish I could be more nuanced about this (and perhaps describe the potential pitfalls that lie ahead now that we have taken some "ownership" over the future welfare of the Venezuelan people), but when Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries (the so-called Democrat "leaders" in Congress) are fuming mad that America's Delta Force dropped into the most heavily fortified compound in Venezuela like invisible ninjas and plucked murderous thug Nicolás Maduro from his slumberous solitude in a matter of minutes, I can barely resist the urge to stand on top of a chair positioned atop my desk and applaud all the remarkable warriors who accomplished this mission.

The ROK is not a success?  Have you read the history of how rural the South was at the end of WWII?  The DPRK was the more advanced area economically and industrially at that point, and look what it is today (I guess socialism was not done right there). Yes, the Korean Peninsula is only at a state of armistice, but I would say 70+ years of that is fairly stable against they paper tiger that is the DPRK.  Also, we have to contend with China and their desire to maintain the DPRK as a buffer.  I have been there many times in the last 20 years, and even at times of heightened tensions, I will definitely take the ROK over the DPRK.

 

As to Venezuela, as I said before give it some time rather than making conclusions in less than a week.  I will allow Rubio to do his work before I make any judgements
