https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hegseth-orders-hundreds-military-commanders-virginia-unprecedented-meeting

Hundreds of Generals, Admirals, and very very senior Enlisted members of the Armed Forces have just been ordered to appear in Virginia with in the next few days by Pete Hegseth, who was a Major not too long ago.

Those of you that served get just what a flex this is. I bet there are some bruised egos and back channel cussing going on. I find it a bit amusing.

If Hegseth reports to the Commander-in-Chief, then the brass and grunts report to Hegseth.

Sure hope that there's no terror attack on all of them when they convene -- perish the thought.

On the brighter side:

THE TWO LIONS

Two lions escaped from the National Zoo in Washington, DC.  Under close pursuit, they hastily agreed to meet in one month, and they escaped in different directions.

In a month, the lions met as agreed.  "I've been having a terrible time finding food," said one lion.  "How have you been making out?"

"I found a wonderful hiding place in the Pentagon," said the other lion.  "I eat one general per week.  It'll be years before they notice that anyone's missing!"

Panic Seizes Pentagon As Hegseth Calls No-Notice, No-Agenda Meeting of All Generals in Command Billets

Something's up!  Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has ordered all top U.S. military commanders, worldwide, to convene at Quantico Marine Corps Base next week for a no-notice meeting with no published agenda.  To call this unprecedented might be an understatement.  The order covers about 800 general officers and admirals, and each of the attendees is directed to bring their senior enlisted adviser with them: "All general officers in command in grade O-7 through O-10 and their general officer senior enlisted advisers are directed to attend within operational constraints."

If the meeting is unprecedented, then so, too, is the bellyaching.  [...]

Everyone knows that the military is actually run by those NCOs ranked Sergeant and above. Officers are merely there as window dressing. 🫡
