My wife is now a US citizen. She is looking to apply for her parents to come over. They have children, 1 is 36, 1 is 24, 1 is 21, 1 is 18 the last is 16. She would like to apply for her parents and her 16 year old sister at the same time. When the parents get here in 2 - 3 years, have them apply for the others once her parents get a job. I told my wife it may be possible for the 18 year old, but the others would be a wait of 8 to 10 years. Although I have read elsewhere that it's between 3 to 5. What would be a good approximate for this? Thank you.

The 16 year old cannot immigrate with the parents.  There are no derivatives for relatives of US citizens.  One of the parents will have to petition the children after they have Green cards.

If your wife petitioned the 16 year old or any of the siblings, it would take a couple decades for them to immigrate.

Siblings who were petitioned in 2006 (Philippines) are just now becoming current.

I wish there was better news.

She can apply for her parents, and her siblings, but separately - her siblings (including the 16 year old) cannot come on her parents petition.

Her parents can petition them once they are in the US as you say. The 3-5 years would be for any that qualify under F2A, any that don't will come under F2B and they will have a 15 year ish wait, if they are from the Philippines. The current visa bulletin is here so you can see what date those who are now becoming eligible for visas applied - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-august-2025.html

Also, this is assuming none of them are married?

The 16 year old maybe 3 years after the parents arrive.

The others assuming they are single c 2045

i would suggest she petitions all of them, well if you want to save money not the 16 year old. You never know what could happen.

There are no derivatives allowed for relatives of US citizens.  They never have.  The parents would be IR-5 cases.

As above, it never has done for immediate relatives. Is yours a family preference category, or immediate relative?

Never allowed derivatives under the IR category.  Derivatives are allowed under the Family Preference categories (F1, F2A, F2B, F3, and F4).  This case contains a mix that spans the categories.  For the wife of the OP, her parents now would be IR5 hence no derivatives (unfortunately LPRs are not able to sponsor parents, but USCs can), and siblings would be F4, or F2A/F2B depending on the situation at time of filing.
