I filed from Orange County CA, still processing and waiting for an update since biometric reuse notice (late Aug 2025).

I guess Southern California is one of the slower areas for processing. I’m not worried as I can’t contact anyone about it till June. Just thought some lurkers would appreciate an update from someone who has heard nothing! 😅

Sometimes no news can be helpful -- thanks for posting.

For some reason, your comment reminds me of when I underwent medical imaging, and the doctor said to me, "We X-rayed your head, and found NOTHING."  :P

Hi everyone, I’m not a regular poster but I’ve been following the thread and really appreciate everyone sharing their timelines and experiences. It’s been very helpful, so I wanted to add my update.
N‑400 sent: 08/24/2025 (Carol Stream, IL lockbox)
Received by USCIS: 08/29/2025
Category: 3‑year rule
Biometrics: 09/30/2025
Interview: 03/04/2026 – Atlanta Field Office

The interview went smoothly. In addition to the civics/reading/writing tests, the officer went through my N‑400 in detail. We reviewed my trips abroad, my speeding tickets (I brought the payment receipts), and my evidence of a bona fide marriage. I had photos, joint tax returns, joint leases, and joint bank/credit card/loan/insurance statements, and the officer looked through them.

These were my civics questions:
•     Name the U.S. war between the North and the South?
•     During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States?
•     What’s one responsibility that is only for U.S. citizens?
•     Name one right only for U.S. citizens?
•     When do we celebrate Independence Day?
•     What is the name of the Vice President of the United States?

For the reading test, I had to read:

“What are the colors of the flag of the United States?”

For the writing test, I wrote:
“The colors of the flag of the United States are red, white, and blue.”

I was approved at the end of the interview. The officer said I should receive my oath notice in the mail in 2–4 weeks, but when I got home and checked my USCIS online account, the oath ceremony letter was already posted.

Sharing my timeline in case it helps others. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Big congratulations 🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉

Just happy for you.

Wish everyone following this forum a great and successful immigration process.

More Approvals to All 🙏🙏🙏

Just wanted to update. My husband has his combo interview today. Officer took our bank statements, 3 years of tax returns, his SIL letter, and our auto insurance policies. Looked through our photos and at our documents. Asked how we met, what we did for work, about our living arrangements. After looking through the documents, I was asked to leave the room, then he completed his civics and writing test. He passed all 6 questions and the writing/speaking portion. At the end she gave him a letter that says congrats, and that he will be contacted regarding the oath ceremony. So far the USCIS account has not updated, but I expect that to take some time.

Overall, the whole process took about 20 minutes. Field office is Norfolk.

I will update again once the ceremony is scheduled, and hope others still waiting hear some good news soon!

thank you! I appreciate all the help here as well.

VJ is a great resource.

One overlooked part of the satisfaction is being able to fill in that very last line in your VJ profile.  :)

Any idea how long it takes for the oath to be scheduled? It’s been a week but still stuck on interview scheduled.

Important note here; right after my wife's interview I had read several pieces on the annals of the internet that the office actually sometimes calls you - yes, on the telephone, a live human even - to schedule the ceremony. Knowing my wife does not typically answer the phone while at work and ignores calls assuming they are spam, I made her aware that she may get a call. Sure enough, they called to schedule the ceremony - 4 days from the call (only 11 days after the interview) so don't ignore your phones.
