Good day!

I hope someone can help me for our future trip.

next year Feb our first Carribean cruise (me and 3 (K2) with my extended family, as 4 Phil passport & GC holders do we need to get visas to Bahamas? even if were just in the ship? or not going in or out of ports?  I have a different last name (married name) and I don't know if that would be an issue also if we board to prove that these (3) kids are mine. I don't want to overthink, any info is great and thank you!

p.s I don't know where to post this. Thank you again!

Hi, the kids, just like you, are permanent residents and not K-1 / K-2 anymore as far as I can tell from your message.

When it comes to visas for Bahamas, this is what I found:

"For visits NOT exceeding 30 days:

An original Alien Registration Card (Green Card)
A national passport (passport from country of birth),  valid for at least six months at the time of entry"

I'd still confirm with cruise line whether visa is needed or not. If you're not entering Bahamas, I don't see the need for visa, but this is not an immigration advice.

As for your discrepancy between name in passport and on GC, carry certified copy of marriage certificate.

Always,  always check with the cruise line

with today's current government and some of the backlash he's created,  things can change

I have had a similar situation and conversation with a cruise line about this issue.

A few years ago we had friends visit us from Russia on their Russian passport and US tourist visa.  They wanted to go on a Caribbean cruise with us.  The cruise line will put it on you to do your homework and check for the needed visas, BUT the reality is that once you are on the ship there are no immigration checks at ports of call.  The cruise line never asked for any additional documents other than the passports and US visa.  You exit and reenter the ship using the passenger card they give you.  That's all.  The only immigration check is returning to the US.  I was able to confirm this while on board the ship when they were trying to sell me another future cruise!

That was our experience.
