Starting a new thread for fellow June 2025 filers.

Case is being processed by VSC

June 2 - Sent Package

June 3 - Package Delivered (Carol Stream, IL)

June 5 - first text message and email, case appeared in online portal

June 7 - Personal Check cashed, one file with partial evidence scan uploaded to portal by USCIS agent

June 10 - 48 month Extension Notice and Biometrics Reuse Notice available in online portal, 'Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS'

June 14 - Extension Notice and Biometrics Reuse Notice arrived in the mail

Looks like we covered all the first steps pretty quickly and now the waiting game begins. Will file N-400 ASAP in late May 2026, but we wouldn't mind a surprise I-751 approval in the meantime. I know it's unlikely, but one can dream :). Hoping we can be done with the USCIS for good in roughly 18 months.

Good luck to everyone!

Wanted to take this opportunity to ask our more experienced users some questions:

1. What is the best practice on uploading additional evidence in the online portal? How often and what type of evidence would you upload to strengthen your case?

2. Best practice for evidence for interview? How important is this for a successful interview experience? Do you simply continue printing bank statements, utility bills and photos as they come?

3. Any reason why USCIS only uploads scans of partial evidence? Is this completely random? In our case, they only uploaded one file named Part 4.

Yes, bring as much fresh evidence you can. With utility companies and banks, you can just select paper statements so you don't have to spend time and money printing. In most cases, paper statement are free.

Finally sent my package off last week and pleasantly surprised by how fast they processed everything! The timeline is a little wonky though

6/17: Sent to Carol Stream, IL via USPS (expected delivery date 6/21)

6/20: Case received according to USCIS portal

6/21: Delivery to PO Box by USPS according to tracking information

6/26: Case is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS

Checked the portal and saw our our receipt letter and notice our biometric is being reused. We haven't received any physical letters yet. Now we wait for next April to file for citizenship!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Just sent ours in. Here's our timeline so far

June 23: Sent to Lockbox through USPS

June 26: Arrived at Lockbox

June 26: Case has been received and a receipt notice has been sent

July 1: Check cashed

Waiting for documents to show up in the portal now. Hoping we don't have an interview just for the sake of simplicity as my wife had an interview for the K1 visa and they skipped it for the actual green card, but we'll be ready. Also waiting to see about biometrics.

Just to update: July 2: confirmation of reusing biometrics (no need for new biometrics appointment)
