Since it says sponsor in the i864a form, who should fill it in and how in our case, my wife or her father? There is also another place like this that the household member will fill in. I understand that the mother should fill it in, but who is this sponsor part for?

Screenshot_2.jpg

and Even if there is nothing to add on this last page, should the mother fill in the name and surname section on this i864a form?

She is filling out the I864A in support of her husband’s (the co-sponsor) I864, so treat the husband as the sponsor in this case.

As to section 9, sure, fill out her name information, then put N/A at 3, 4, 5, and 6.

okay thank you then her husband should fill in the sponsor parts like part 5 on this form

and since they file taxes jointly, she has to fill out part 4 using her husband's tax figures, right?

I will be applying for AOS with a K1 visa. Since my wife's income is insufficient, we will use her father as a joint sponsor, but I learned that her mother also needs to fill out the i864a form even if she doesn't work.

Her mother is not working right now, but since they are married, they file their taxes together. Should she write her husband's numbers in this section of the i864a form since they file their taxes together, or should she leave it blank since she doesn't work?

Yes, she would use the same tax information since they file jointly.

Good Luck!

That's false.

I864a is only filled out by a co sponsor WILLING TO sponsor.

She has no income so she cant.

She will still be included in the Joint sponsor household SIZE calculation on their I864.

Neither.

No I864a needed.

I came to America with a K1 visa. My fiance and I got married and we will start an AOS application, but since her income is not enough right now, her father will be our joint sponsor. There are 4 of us in the house, my wife, her father and her mother. Only my wife and her father are working. Her mother is not working. Her father is the one who will support us. I have a few questions regarding this scenario.

Screenshot_4.jpg.d89cecc0644430a207ec9f3a0732c4c3.jpg

How should we fill out the above i485 form in this case? Since we live in a household of 4 people, should we write it as 4 people and add up all the income of the household?

Screenshot_5.jpg.b3334f4d7ebc32865004df94e409e992.jpg

How should the father who will be the joint sponsor of the i 864 form fill this out on part 1? Which option?

Screenshot_1.jpg.b01adc1b74417db90491d10acf4d9d1c.jpg

How should her father fill in this part 4?

Screenshot_2.jpg.784ebe4ee86f2207441b9342742df734.jpg

How should my wife and her father (joint sponsor) fill out this part 5 in i864? How should they specify the household here?

Thank you in advance to those who will help

If they file taxes jointly, it can be requested by USCIS or a consulate.  Essentially, they are making sure that both parties are in agreement to the sponsorship.

Good Luck!

It likely wouldn't be requested.

Why?

Because MFJ filing sponsors are required to provide their earnings statements with their Transcript and it would show the JS's income is the only one on their MFJ taxes.
