Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is a daft question but we haven’t had our NOA1 yet, but our cheque has been cashed? Do they just cash all cheques immediately? Which I’m guessing they might…

Or ( holds breath) has our form been checked and our NOA1 is on the way?

Just for info we posted our form on 27th Sept, the cheque was cashed on 3rd October.

Thank you

Lesley and Tom

i believe they cash the check before processing anything

you will more than likely get the NOA1 soon

the wait is agonizing but don't worry, you'll get it soon 😄

No.   It means the packet is accepted (correct form and payment, etc) and you’ll get the receipt notice.   The adjudication of the contents of the packet will not occur until many months later.

It means that they received your petition, so that's a good start. It also means that they happily took your money, so you included the correct amount and payment method. But that's it.

Cashing means that your NOA1 will be on it's way, but it could still take a little bit of time.

Additionally, NOA1 does not mean that they have even looked at your petition yet.

You won't know that it's been checked until you receive an RFE or NOA2 (whichever comes first for you).
