Thoughts?  Mine are mixed.  The author's reasoning is one thing.  To my mind, re-attending would indicate continued intent to build bridges AND show that he's not scared off; but skipping it is probably more prudent now that the world knows how insecure all non-new-White House Ballroom venues can be.

Well I dunno, all we know is he certainly wasn't shot and apparently he didn't actually shoot anyone either (friendly fire). So the only reason he was stopped was because he fell down himself. All very lucky I suppose.

the camera angle i saw, he was running from left to right.  unknown what was on the right side of the screen - always be aware of your backstop.

This is a key thing people don't seem to remember.  Every bullet has a lawyer attached and if someone behind this radical was injured, there would be heck to pay, and quite possibly he did not actually present as a safe target so a body takedown was more in order which did happen.  I am actually glad it did not get taken out like the PA shooter as it kind of makes those far left conspiracy theories sound farcical.

He was a floor above the gathering.  He would have had to navigate an escalator which was manned at the top and bottom, I have heard.  He would not have made it inside the room, imo.

I'm not surprised. There's 'staged' conspiracies around every single president or famous person that has ever been shot or died, moon landings, 9/11, covid, you name it... conspiracies in vogue now. Doesn't make them any less stupid.

I haven't been down to that level personally, so don't know the layout there, only that he managed to use the unguarded stairwells with ease which makes sense. Doesn't sound like he planned this very well, so it's always bewildering the varying levels of success a complete idiot can accomplish.

It is all about someone saying I know something you don't, a power play.  This is why conspiracy theories take hold.
