I was listening to the BBC and they had this live and I just heard the end of it. Thrown the cat amongst the pigeons, the Establishment has been implying for years there is nothing that can be done.

Farage has thrown down the gauntlet on illegal migration

 

Nigel Farage threw down the gauntlet today on illegal immigration.  The Reform UK leader was speaking in an airport hangar in Oxfordshire, in front of a giant Union flag.  To his side was a mock airport departures board showing where illegal migrants might soon be sent back to if his party takes power.  With the public mood on the small-boats crisis now souring to the point of 'total despair', Farage said the issue of illegal migration can now be boiled down to a simple question.  'Whose side are you on?', he asked, rhetorically, of embattled Labour prime minister Keir Starmer.  'Are you on the side of women and children being safe on our streets?  Or are you on the side of outdated international treaties backed up by a series of dubious courts?'

 

I think we all know the answer.  Indeed, one of the few policies that the opportunistic Starmer hasn't jettisoned or u-turned on in his first year in office is his commitment to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and the international human-rights framework more broadly.  And it is this that Farage and much of the right have correctly identified as the main barrier to taking back control of Britain's borders, as the public is demanding.  [...]

Very Trump like, coming back in the car listening to BBC, they were covering the media response, the talking heads going on about this and that, missing the point, he has all the headlines are they are defending the indefensible.

 

I would be VERY surprised if Reform are ever in the position to implement.

Except if an election were held today, Reform would likely be the largest party and I’d guess the Tories would be more than happy to form a coalition.

 

Starmer has tanked a government faster than anyone I can remember. Even die-hard Labour supporters are freaking out at the mess he’s made.

To be fair it seems to be common that a system has been produced where only the weakest rise to the top.

 

Next election no idea, last one was easy to predict.

Labour will be kicked to the curb and first past the post will limit Reform’s seats, assuming they don’t lose their momentum in the meantime. 

 

So a default, unpopular Tory govt looms. Only question is whether they have to be propped up in a coalition.

seems like a rinse and repeat process that never works.  the voters need to think out of the box of the usual parties....

Perhaps, but if voters think Farage is the answer, they are going to be sorely mistaken. Aside from anything else, he should never be forgiven for his considerable role in the Brexit mess.
