Here is my Timeline

Marriage base AOS Octomber 2019

Changed to vawa August 2020

RFE good moral Octomber,  submitted November 2020.

Divorce December 2020

Vawa approved December 17 2022

Interview schedule April 18,2024

Got approved immediately.

 

Note: I went with my medical which I did a year ago ,it was accepted, I thought I would need a new one, officer said it's still valid. 

 

I wont call it an  interview, I was only asked 3 question about security. the officer corrected my old AOS like address , marital status and job. 

So if you have a pending old 1-485 you might be call for interview for them to have up to date information about you, but if you submitted new 1-485 with your vawa petition or file later you will be mostly he among those interview will be waived.

You are absolutely right about it. The officer on the call to USCIS told me to go to the interview as well. My non profit organisation who helped me file it in 2019 is in the city where the Green card was filed so the officer was wondering if that is the case they gave me that field office.

 

Also, my I693 medical was never filed and I do not have the interview letter to know if they are asking me to bring it to the interview. What should I do about that?

 

What other documents will I need to bring to the interview? 
 

And, is it possible for you to help me represent at the interview? Is it advisable that an attorney should accompany the interviewee? 
 

Also, if @Risen firsttimer any other person has gone through the interview recently, can you please share your experiences? Like what kind of documents should I have? Do I need to bring the affidavit I filed with VAWA? Do they need the original Dissolution Decree? I still don’t have my interview letter from the non profit org so I am a little nervous about the documentation.

Those question are under General Eligibility and inadmissible ground on form 1-485 I think from page 11-16 but I was only 3 of those questions.

You will need your medical very important, your divorce decree , make sure you go through your form 1-485 for you to remember all you put down. They wont ask you about vawa the focus is on 1-485 , if you have evidence of your previous marriage you can arrange them and keep it aside in a case officer ask for it, though I was not ask about previous marriage at all.

Will they require the original Divorce Decree or the scanned copy in printed form will work?

 

I was going through my I-485 and realized that the date of marriage is different than on the marriage certificate. Probably the non profit put it wrong and I did not recheck.

 

Thank you for stating this. I am traumatized to talk about it or read my affidavit that I submitted originally but hearing everywhere that if you don't have a attorney they ask for details. Is it true?

Do I need to take documents that were originally submitted with the I360?

If they didn't transfer your case, you have to send it to the address you sent your VAWA/I-485 applications.

The mandamus will help unreasonabe delays. You can't be denied just because you filed a writ of mandamus.

Yes they’ll ask the yes and no questions. Just make sure what you put on your visa application when entering the country corresponds with the yes/no question. I was married back home but mistakenly the person who did my visa application put single instead of married. After the i485 interview, the officer denied my i485 for fraud because I said NO to the question “have you ever committed fraud or misrepresentation to enter the USA “. He assumed because I said no I lied because I entered the country as single while I was married. I had to file i290B and after months I received RFE for i601 waiver, now waiting for the decision
