Hey guys weird question. Can my sponsor cancel my immigrant visa once it is issued and has been put on my passport or it’s too late for him? Can he cause some problems at the airport ?

The short answer is yes, they can contact the Consulate/embassy and they can contact CBP.

Heyy just one question, is it mandatory that the primary applicant be with me when i travel? If he can’t be able to be available with me, is it a problem ?

Well yes. The purpose of family based petition is family unification. If sponsor is not in the US they may turn you around.

Not i didnt mean the sponsor, i meant the principal applicant. There is one principal applicant and the other member of the family. Is it mandatory to all of us go to US at the same time ? Or can we go separately? If the principal applicant is kind of busy right now and will be able to go later, can i travel before him and activate my Greencard ?

That is not a problem, how long will it be before the Beneficiary can travel?

Hey guys one quick question, once i arrived at the airport what are the necessary procedure to activate my greencard, is it going to take time? Can someone explain?

Go through immigration. They'll stamp your passport. That's how you activate it. Don't forget to pay the ELIS fee to receive physical GC.

Ok i might go on 13 january, the primary applicant might go like 1 february. Well i saw on the internet that the primary applicant should be the first there but is this rule still applicable ?

Yes, it's absolutely still applicable. You can't enter before the principal applicant, you must either enter at the same time or after them. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview/step-12-after-the-interview.html#:~:text=Entering the United States, derivative family members with visas.

How long it will take will depend on various factors, ours was super quick and easy, maybe 10 minutes and just a handful of questions.

Its not like a credit card. It doesnt require “activating”. When you enter using the immigrant visa you become an LPR. The green card is the document that demonstrates this status
