:luv: Thank you all for the congratulations. I feel we are closer now to being together. I hope that the upcoming holidays doesn't slow NVC's processing down. The rep I spoke to today said that they don't necessarily go in order...they basically are taking the easier ones first. He did give me a tidbit of info on the process to update the website processing dates saying they are suppose to be updated every two weeks. I said since I signed up online back in July they have been updated more like once per month and he said yeah that happens...he said to check by the weekend and if it isn't updated then it will be updated by the 15th. He also said that the April 12th processing date that was last and currently posted could be there even if there was only one petition still left in April to be approved. So don't lose faith. Everyone will be approved soon. Insha'allah! Oh and another thing...he said that the receipt numbers have nothing to do with order of processing.

Hugs,

A.

The whole USCIS thing stinks. People who submitted packages or whose packages were received after mine are getting NOA2s (not that I begrudge them THEIR happiness, but there ought to be more happiness to go around). Furthermore, my call last week (through the b*tch screener to the very nice Immigration officer) has NOT resulted in a touch.

The fiancee says that her family and friends all keep asking her when our papers will be approved. I am out of excuses and "stalling" tactics.

Other item: An immigration attorney to whom I'd spoken recommended that I send in the I-134 (or whatever the "financial support" package is) along with the original I-129F. I did this. Two questions: [1] Could this be slowing down the processing of my I-129F? [2] Will I have to resubmit a fresh I-134 package during the next step of the paperwork process, or can I simply send a notarized affidavit to say that the finances are materially the same as they were in May?

If you're merely speculating about the second question, please refrain from answering; if you know for sure, please answer.

I apologize to everyone for being such a grouch, but reading the VJ forums invariably makes me feel infuriated and depressed about the situation.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

couldn't agree more that USCIS stinks, but why do you need 'excuses and stalling tactics'? this delay isn't your fault, and it's happening to everyone; why can't you just tell them that at present, this is how long the process takes?

five approvals so far this week... it's a slow start, but I'm not without hope that it will still pick up :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I don't know for sure so sorry in advance for answering. I also sent mine with the I-134 and mine seems to be taking longer too. I have gotten touched Every day since Friday and suspect it is the affidavit of support slowing things down. My roommate that submitted his at the same time I did was approved on the 18th and the only difference between our petitions is I sent mine with the I-134 and he didn't. After I had already sent my packet I read on VJ that it isn't recommended to submit it this early in the process.

I don't know if that's what is actually causing yours to move slower or not, but I was told that the I-134 is sent to your finace(e) along with a copy of the NOA2 to take to the interview. USCIS usually doesn't receive those, but you think they'd just disregard it and move forward...ahhh...but look what orginization we're talking about here. I would suggest that you prepare your I-134 with supporting documents to send to your fiancee when you receive your NOA2 with it being notarized close to the date of the NOA2 as they need it for the interview, not at USCIS.

Good luck and I hope you hear something soon!

I would suspect that they would just put this form aside and not do anything with it, since it is not needed until your interview. Who knows what goes on in the minds of those who work at USCIS but at least you know they are working on your file. Good luck

:luv: Thank you all for the congratulations. I feel we are closer now to being together. I hope that the upcoming holidays doesn't slow NVC's processing down. Well I don´t quite get it with the website update. I used to think they have scanners and whenever they do something with a petition they scan the barcode they put on it and therefore it updates in their system. So if they aren´t online and the website doesn´t automatically update all the time and the website doesn´t pick up their system updates it doesn´t make any sense. Because if they have to manually tell the website to update once every two weeks, how do you explain that some people find out about their approval online and some who were approved don´t have their status changed untill 3 weeks later. The only explanation I can think of is that the adjudicators who take piles of petitions home (cuz they work from home) aren´t online and only have the scanner available in the office where they come once a week or once in two weeks to return adjudicated petitions and pick up new ones to work on.
