Hi all,

I am a US citizen and want to sponsor my parents green card. However I am confused which path to go with. Should I opt for consular processing (in mumbai, india) or adjustment of status by bringing them over here on visitor visa. Which one takes less time based on your experience.

Thanks

Not a legal option for you.  Petition them for visas, and prepare to wait in the queue, like everyone else.

That idea is why people from India who legitimately want to visit find it hard to get tourist visas.

No need to be confused because you only have the consular option available. Misusing the tourist visa to have them enter with the intent to adjust status is a no-no.

As others have stated, AOS is only an option if they are already here inside the US and their plans changed.  No one here will advise you to follow any other route than consular processing given what you stated in your OP.

Good Luck!
