@MasterCarrot you mentioned you have an interview on December 5, which is now less than a month away. Any updates from the embassy by any chance?

 

Not sure if anyone noticed, but travel.state.gov has had an update (red alert right at the top) for Israel since at least Nov 4th, where they say that "The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and the Branch Office in Tel Aviv have resumed appointments for regular passports and other consular services. ". However, the Embassy's site still says they're not offering immigrant visa services, which is contradicting. Curious which one is more correct (rhetorical question).

The consulate is right there "on the ground" and should be believed over more-remote sources.

Still worth an e-mail to the consulate to confirm.

"Consular services" might not include "visa services." Best to contact them to confirm.

@pechenka Hello, yes my fiancé's interview took place earlier today. We have been occupied the last week with flights and transfers/reservations. (I have not been on the forum until now). She was called last week Wednesday that her interview was still active. So we scheduled flights from Khabarovsk to Moscow to Sochi and eventually Jerusalem. Yesterday was her medical, today was her interview. She was approved and is just waiting on her medical to clear (could take a few days since the clinic in Jerusalem takes a while to process)

Did the embassy instruct you to schedule the medical one day before the interview, or was it just a result of the embassy informing you of the interview so late? Asking because the medical clinic told me (long time ago) that they usually schedule an appointment 2 weeks in advance of the interview date.

They started interviews again, just had a handful of girls from the telegram chat I'm in go through interviews today and yesterday. We have tickets flying out on the 28th.

Thanks. We were informed late of her interview that we scheduled the soonest date possible (which was Monday the 13th). However, scheduling 2 weeks in advance would be preferable. Her medical was originally going to take place in Bethlehem (but because of its proximity to Gaza (62 miles away) we didn't go through with it). However, I remember another Russian in a Telegram chat mentioning that her medical in Bethlehem went well (and is faster in processing times as opposed to Jerusalem).

gaza isn't near bethlehem, if anything it's closer to jerusalem, they're right next to each other

My wife got a transfer to Bishkek and we are waiting to find out the interview date. This is our third transfer already and hopefully the last one (four transfers if you count the automatic transfer from Moscow). I wonder what is the all-time record? 🤔

 

Glad to hear that Jerusalem is working again. Congrats to those who got their interviews done recently and good luck to everyone headed there or waiting for final approval.

My Russian wife's case is still 6-9 months from clearing the NVC stage. Who knows what will be the best option then.

Hey! Can you help me? How did you actually go about transferring it? And how long did it take them to do so? Can you keep updated about the interview? I think that embassy out there is pretty small.
