Hello,

Im a USC married to my wife from meixico. We got the notification that we are documentarily qualified on on tuesdat july 18th. How long does it take to receive the welcome letter for the interview? Would this depend on the particular consulate?

Thank you

I doubt if there's a welcome letter for interview. I think they're for when you receive your visa.

Or you meant "when will I receive the letter for interview?" That's an interview letter, not a welcome letter.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Yeah, I guess thats what I meant. The message or letter for the interview you get after you have been DQ

Yes.  It depends on how long the queue is for your consulate is at NVC.  Here is how it works:

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interview when case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

6. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

Yes, it very much depends on the consulate. Some are only a couple of months from DQ to interview, others are a couple of years. You can search the forum to see what Mexico’s current wait is.

Edit: found a thread which may be useful -

Good luck.

For CDJ in Mexico, the current wait time for interview letter for CR1/IR1 cases is around 18 months after DQ.

Hi, I was just wondering how you are about to get the estimate wait times? I have been looking online and haven’t been able to find them for CDJ. My husband’s case is DQ in June 2023, and we are waiting for an interview at CDJ. I guess the hardest part for me is knowing it could take 18 more months. I deal with depression and mental health issues. And another 18 months feel unbearable. 💔

Thank you for the response. I don’t have Facebook so that is good to know. Sad that it is taking so long, but I guess it’s better to be aware than to have false hope.
