Wow, I couldn't find the July 2023 thread anywhere. Needed to go to the 2nd page of advanced search results!

Posting here to see if it gets bumped a bit higher!

Let us know when you get your received replies from NVC, everyone. Many of you should already start doing inquiries with the 30th day approaching.

Got my reply today …

To Whom it Concerns:

Thank you for your inquiry. The National Visa Center (NVC) has not yet received your petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Although the Form I-797 approval notice mentions a delay of up to 30 days for cases to be delivered to NVC from USCIS, current shipping times may be longer. If you have not received a communication from NVC about this case within 60 days from the I-797 approval notice, please contact us again.

Once NVC receives this petition from USCIS and enters it into our system, all case parties will receive a notice that they can begin processing if a visa number is immediately available.

I sent an inquiry on the 5th of Aug as it was exactly 30 days since NOA2 (6th of July). Got a response yesterday that the case has been recently received but has not been assigned a case number yet.

#Bh_sarah. You seem to be the guru here. I was wondering how often do you email NVC inquiring about the status? Weekly? 2 weeks?

 Thanks

Weekly after day 30 post NOA2 until I got the received. Then after the received, I’d send another public inquiry right after they replied to my previous one. Kept the cycle going until I got my case number.

This had me wondering if the reply I get from my first inquiry was a mistake. They replied that the case was received from USCIS, but not yet entered into the system. This is roughly 34ish days after NOA2. This is widely ahead of most all timelines I have been tracking here. Not complaining, just not sure I should believe it.

It’s not a mistake as the majority of people who inquiry for a first time get the same response. USCIS sends our cases to NVC pretty quickly but then NVC takes a great deal of time to assign a case number, hence, the estimated 90-day wait time
