If I contact NVC about my interview letter, will it slow my case down? It's been 7 weeks since DQ, the embassy Sweden. I'm seeing others get their IL in Sweden maximum 6 weeks so I am worried.

You can do, but the immigration timelines on VJ don't say 6 weeks, it seems to be quite a bit longer than that so I wouldn't worry just yet - https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=Sweden&dfile=No&adv=0

Might be worth asking in the Europe sub forum to see if anybody has any recent experience. Good luck.

Thanks! I'm getting my numbers from the CR-1 scandinavia facebook group and everyone there has gotten IL within 6 weeks. Maybe they are just lucky though.

I've got no idea about Stockholm, my consulate is London and they usually only send out IL's once a month, so perhaps you just missed the cut off for that month?

it doesn't hurt to email but u will probably only get a computer generated response saying something like

"case has been dQ and ready for interview to be scheduled,   we will notify u when the date is scheduled"

u can always check the case status on

Typical DQ to IL is 1-2 months.  At week 9 I would send an inquiry to NVC.

NVC.

Embassy just sends a batch of available dates to the NVC.  Embassy will not be aware of any specific case until the interview is scheduled by the NVC and the case is sent to the embassy.

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC. (Pre-Covid, this was up to 3 months)

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interview when case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

6. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.
