It was our bicentennial here in the FL Keys along with the July 4th celebration at our local park.  There was food, music, activities for the kids, and the WORLDS LARGEST KEY LIME PIE!  I got a piece, but the wife wouldn't eat it because she said she saw too many flies around the pie...

 

Great time that concluded with fireworks and a laser light show.  Not bad for a "small town".    To be honest, just before it got dark we went back to the house and watched the fireworks from our front porch with a couple of frosty cold adult beverages.

Lunch was a boxed lunch provided by the hospital, ingest for free we man.

Din-din was another of the same, ingest for free we man.

Dessert was the uneaten half of Mama T-B.'s lunch hamburger, ingest for free we man.

It was at 1am. It may not be legal here but there was one heck of a show out there.

Roachcock met its watery doom, Davy Jones' Locker man.

We power-flushed again, can never be too sure about the demise of roachcocks man.

After adrenaline diminished, we praised miu for being a good huntress, praise miu we man.

Daughter's cat like those creepy things too.

Mama T-B.'s facility called to say that EMS was in her crib, weak/shaky senior she man.

On-duty managerette answered phone there, dependable managerial she man.

Mama T-B. had gone from lunch to start the Mama-T-B.-mobile, several days since last time man.

While down there, she got shaky, sat down on Rollator man.

An acquaintance soon came by, assist Mama T-B. inside man.

Front desk helped Mama T-B. back into her crib, helpful frontdeskers man.

 

Managerette said that the EMTs were trying to convince her to go to the hospital, check out senior she man.

We told managerette that we'd bet our POTS empire that she would refuse, know senior she we man.

We hightailed it to crib, hightail we man.

Managerette said that ambulance had just left with Mama T-B., amazing occurrence man.

 

We found Mama T-B.'s exam room in Emergency, find we senior she man.

Mama T-B. looked and sounded shaky but wanted to go home, of course man.

 

Medicos did labs +  imaging, standard man.

Labs normal except Troponin T somewhat elevated, cardiac marker man.

They CT'd Mama T-B.'s head and found nothing, always knew it we man.

 

After Many (2+2+1) hours -- si man, Many (2+2+1) hours -- they decided to admit her for observation,  man.

Mama T-B. gave us instructions of what to get at her crib, instructionary senior she man.

We returned with all, dutiful we man.

Mama T-B. asked us Many (2+1) times -- si man, Many (2+1) times -- if we'd locked her crib,  man.

 

We are not to tell a soul about any of this, and no visitors, no and no man.

 

At least all of this got done before the fireworks idiots start flooding the Emergency Department, silver lining man.

I'm glad she went in. Hope your mom starts feeling better.

Thrilling (?) Wednesday report, see man:

 

We hung around the casa all day, wait for hospital calls man.

Mama T-B. underwent more tests & imaging, throw hospital book at senior she man.

Diagnosis, which we could have made, was "dehydration and doing too much too soon," duh man.

 

Ran errand at Walmart in advance of hospital discharge, dutiful we man.

Lunch/din-din was a gigantic sub sandwich* from Walmart deli, ingest we man.

     *marked half-price on last day for sale, financially savvy we man

 

Finally got Mama T-B. to her crib after Many (2+2+2) p.m., discharge took forever man.

Mama T-B. weak as anything, could barely arise from wheelchair to Rollator man.

Ordered us to straighten the detritus brought back from hospital,  man.

Hotter than purgatory in her crib, perspiratory we man.

Mama T-B. will almost certainly need home health care, at least for a while man.

 

Observations, see man:

   1.  It's hell to be old, si man.

   2.  We consider it highly preferable for our body to go before our mind goes, can't imagine the converse man.

   Many.  Mama T-B. will never accept Assisted Living, forget that man.

   Many.  Falls and inability to move from shakiness will now be facts of life, sigh man.

   Many.  Just as Mama T-B. always came running to service the crying infant/baby T-B., we shall now do the same for Mama T-B., That Phase of Life man.

 

Amidst all this, serviced needy/demanding miu, no peace otherwise man:

   1.  Two full-miu brushings, at least so far man.

   2.  Double serving of miu-treats, mollify miu we man.

   Many.  Two full playings of chase-the-feather-roller, exhausted we man.

 

Too tired for party with the rubias tonight, let them regain their energy too man.

It monsooned on & off, finally rain man.

Yakked by phone with Mama T-B. at length in the morning, yak we man with senior she man man.

Mama T-B. had one fairly brief shaky spell but recovered, fingers crossed man.

 

Lunch was onecan of S+Ms, ingest we man.

Nice and highly necessary siesta thereafter, exhausted we man.

 

Two Guys eve, retrieve Mini-B. we man.

Din-din was BK WUOC, ingest Two Guys and financially savvy we man.

Watched some of Mini-B.'s YouTube videos, mildly interesting man.

Read some Baba-Mails, Mini-B. objected but enjoyed most man.

Played basketball on patio, just dry enough man.

Returned Mini-B., back Sunday man.

 

Many (2+1) ESs itineraried for Friday, hopeful we man.

Party with the rubias later, cavort we man.

We attended all Many (2+1) ESs as itineraried, si man.

The first and Many'rd ESs yielded the take, see man:

  -- ~half-jug Cheer laundry detergent = half a buck, steal man

  -- toucans green beans, onecan corn = $1, steal man

Total = $1 + half a buck

Thrilling Friday non-ES report, see man:

 

Got shopping-list from Mama T-B., easy-to-stomach items man.

 

Lunch/din-din was at favorite Chinese buffet, "girlfriend" not there man.

We consumed Many (2+2) -- si man, Many (2+2) -- plates heaped mostly with beef, ingest we man.

If it was "beef with broccoli," we ignored the last 2 words of it, focused we man.

 

On Mama T-B.'s orders, we hit 2 dollar stores in search of her items, always fruitless man.

Got back to casa tired & sweating, soupy atmosphere man.

Showered and sat to rest, recline we man.

We were awakened by a phone call from Mama T-B. an hour later, unplanned siesta man.

 

Ran out to procure Mama T-B.'s junk, rush we man.

Delivered junk, dutiful we man.

 

Rant, see man:

Why do old people keep their casas at Many (2x2x2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2x2) degrees in summer (or winter) when they're not paying electric bills, huh man?

 

We were sweat-drenched simply delivering that stuff, waste of shower man.

 

Mama T-B. yelled at us about several things, obviously recovering senior she man.

 

Returned to casa a soaking mess, good grief man.

Front & back yards mostly in shadow, time to mow man.

During this process, neighbor's dog came through busted fence to poop again, chase it off we man.

Job took Many (2+2) sweatbands, Many (2+1) job 1 recovery man.

Sat under ceiling fan with ice on knees afterward, recovery we man.

Showered for Many'rd (2+1rd) time, second consecutive week of such insanity man.

 

We have itineraried 2 GSs and an ES for Saturday, unsure of our motivation man.

 

Party with the rubias itineraried as usual, cavort we man.
