Greetings everyone,

My wife has an interview coming up this monday at Islamabad u.s embassy.
She was born in iran and lived her whole life in iran (Afghanistan nationality) upon researching i noticed that most of Iranians goes through extreme vetting and security check . And will be asked to fill for ds 5535 which will delay the visa issuance by months.

i just want to know if there is any Iranian that had there visa issued without filling form ds-5535 . Case type ir1 .

thank you in advance ❤️

I do not know if she will be hit with the DS 5535, seems random, but you can probably expect longer AP.

she will probably be in long AP just as this in Pakistan

and ds 5535 can be given out for any country anytime but for the  3 countries she is associated with , its a high probability

so maybe,  maybe not

I hope you have received your visa so-far. Unfortunately the situation is the same here for me, i did my interview on September and my case is under administrative processing. I am Iranian. If you have any further information about the time for this process, please let me know.

Mahdi, I see your post was from April, I hope that you and your wife have been able to reunite. If you don't mind giving me more details about the process you went through with AP and what happened from April till now. My fiance and I are in the same boat.

He is an Iranian with Italian residency and has been outside of Iran for 5 years or so but when he went in for his k1 interview he was given AP. He was told to fill our the DS5535 and provide a few things since then but no other updates.

thank you and wish you the best.
