It is unusual for N-400 to require the bc of the applicant:

1. please post a copy (with personal data blocked) of the interview notice.

2. are either of your parent’s U.S. citizens?

3. how long have you been an LPR?

I’m a spouse of a U.S citizen.

I used my birth certificate to prove my relationship with my kids as their mom.So the area where they say if you used any copies while applying to bring the original is what is worrying me.

IMHO, that document does not prove your relationship with your kids as their mom.

Their birth certificates plus your marriage certificate are evidence of bonafide marital union with your U.S. citizen spouse.

My prediction is that your original birth certificate will not be needed.

You're overthinking it.

Your BC does not prove your relationship with your children. It only proves that on xxx date and place, there was a baby born whose name is xxxxx.

Their BC does prove your relationship. Take those. And of course, take the necessary IDs to prove your identity.

Do carry a copy of your BC, but don't volunteer it unless they ask!

I agree with others that your own birth cert might probably not be needed.

However, if you really need to replace your lost birth cert you can ask a family member in Ghana to go obtain a certified copy from Birth & Deaths in Ghana. You can obtain it same day if you want.
