Another Native Language Question - Information about beneficiary in their native written language

I am confused about how to answer the native language question: "Information about beneficiary in their native written language". I have not found any posts that address my scenario, so I'm posting. I am the petitioner.

 

The beneficiary is Japanese and was born in Japan. Japanese, of course, does not use the English alphabet.

 

The Japanese beneficiary does not have an address in Japan because we live together, in Singapore.

 

Singapore does not use Japanese, at all. And, the official language is English. Our address has been in English for over ten years.

 

How can I properly complete this question about native language?

if Japanese,  go to google translate and copy and paste the Japanese

i did that for the Arabic for ours

Enter her name in Japanese characters, and enter not applicable in the first address field, as her current address is not in Japanese.

Thanks, all, but I'm still confused. For clarification, this is the section I'm asking about (attached). I assume that this question is asking for an address at which docs/comms could be mailed.

 

The beneficiary's native written language does not use Roman letters, so a response is necessary.

 

But, their "foreign address" does use Roman letters.

 

You can't really write a Singapore address in Japanese - at least not if you want anything to be received at that address.

 

If not for an address at which things can be received if mailed, what is the purpose of this question?

Thank you, but the question asks for a handwritten response, not a field to be completed. Are we talking about the same thing?

 

Writing the name in Japanese and then the address in Roman characters is what I thought might be the best option... with a comment on the page about this scenario.

I think you are misunderstanding the request and overthinking - understandable as one wants to avoid any mistake in such a relevant process-.

 

Whoever did the instructions, assumed the applicant lives in his/ her own country when filing, so they assumed both the name and address will be in the applicant's native language. 

 

Not your case though, so as you just said, write her name in Japanese and address in Roman letters.

The question on the form is followed by fields that can be completed by hand or by entering data to the PDF or online form.  You suggestion will work, but so will mine.

@pushbrk Looking through this older thread. Would Vietnamese be considered Roman? So skip this part even though streets and names have special characters, but they are Latin characters , Thanks so much

For Vietnam, I would complete the whole section with the proper characters.

"If your documents are in a foreign language, upload a full English translation and the translator's certification with each original document."

Is this even applicable ? It's just a name and a street. It doesnt have a translation

No document involved in this.  Simply type the information on the form using the proper characters.  The I-130 is not a "document".

Translation is required for documents such as birth, death, divorce, marriage certificates etc
