I had to one-line the spelling of my city. I one-lined it on every page and wrote in the correct spelling, then initialed where I one-lined.

I had to one-line my fathers birthdate. It was only off by just TWO days because I was unsure as to his birthdate. Again, one-lined and initialed.

The signature dates dates were whited-out and new dates written in by hand. Again, these changes were initialed.

Everything else is completely in order. I'm on active duty in the Navy so I'm obviously not a felon and my background check should be easy...neither of my parents have had any legal troubles. My fiance has had no legal troubles.

That's only 3 minor changes made.

Now...will these be grounds to completely REJECT my application...or just cause a possible RFE? What would that RFE be requesting? Could the problem be solved by them just simply giving me a phone call? If this does cause an RFE...how much time does that add to the complete approval process?

Should it take about 3 months from NOA1 to NOA2?

Thanks in advance everyone! I just mailed out my package on Saturday...so my mind is going ape-######!

Is this the I-129f petition application forms or the biographical forms you are talking about? I am afraid I don't recognize the phrase 'one-line' - but it appears from context that it means to erase information that was previously written and write over with the new information. If you corrected errors on your application form I very much doubt that it will be a cause for them to reject your petition application as long as the corrections are clear and legible. . I suspect you will be perfectly fine if that is the case (although with USCIS it is always hard to say anything for sure VBG). If they send an RFE I doubt it would be because of this corrected information, but because of something that wasn't submitted but needed to be.

There are so many variables at work that it is impossible to say how long after the NOA1 you will receive an NOA2. It could be 3 months; it could be 6 months; it could be 9 months. You could check the Processing Times on the menu bar above to check and see what the current average is for the Processing Center where you submitted your application.

Good luck.

I don't think that making corrections the way you described them will cause a rejection of your case nor a RFE..RFEs are Requests for Evidence, usually when they are missing something in your application or weren't completley satisfied with what you submitted as evidence for example your evidence of having met within the last two years.

Other than that correcting your fathers birthdate might have confused them so much that they need to see HIS birthcertificate, I don't see any RFEs coming your way for making correction.

Though I am wondering a little why you didn't just print out a new, corrected form on the computer? Might have saved you this headache now...

Why didn't you print out a new form to fill out? That woul've been easier. Anyway, I don't think those are grounds for them to send you an RFE. RFE stands for Request for Evidence and if you sent them all the evidence they need, you'll be fine.

As far as approval times go, a couple of months ago petitions going to NSC, TSC & CSC were being approved on an average of 90-120 days. I'm not sure if that timeframe has changed since they sent a whole bunch of petitions from VSC to CSC. For now, give it 90-120 days.

I don't think you'll have any problems related to the corrections you made. It is really difficult to predict timelines going forward because I expect there has been quite a rush of petitions filed to avoid the upcoming fee increases.

If I were you, I'd be thinking in terms of petition approval from 120 to 150 days and then hope its faster.

I only didn't print out a new one because my lawyer in Bangkok told me it wouldnt matter...of course, I wanted another opinion though from all my Vjers:) Plus, making a new one would mean my fiance would have to travel to Bangkok again (which she HATES) and I would have to wait for my lawyer to fedex me the paperwork again.

I made some single line outs and wrote in changed information on some forms. USCIS never sent any back, etc because of that. My guess it depends on the person processing your paperwork at USCIS and how much they stick to the letter of the law vice the spirit of the law.

But you said you changed YOUR father's birthdate & YOUR city, not your fiance? The white out of the dates is weird tho, IMO. That changes things a bit.
