Getting ready for N-400 but have a big question!

Hi Everyone,

 

My stepgaughter is preparing to file her N-400, she came here in 2015 on an IR2 along with her Mom on an IR1.

My step-d graduated University here in 2019 and has worked a series of professional-level jobs in her Biology field but these jobs take her to several areas around the Country, and most times she has not informed USCIS of her new residences.

Each move was permanent but she got better job offers and would relocate again.

Additionally she has purchased and registered a car in another state but maintains our home address in Wisconsin for her Drivers License and much of her mail as well.

USCIS requires residential updates and the N-400 asks for them as well but I wanted to get your thoughts on any potential issues she may encounter over not having being current with them.

I’ve never heard of missing AR-11s this being an issue  for N-400. 
 

That said she should report her current address now.  
 

She should get a drivers license for her current state of residence. At the interview she is likely to be asked for it.  She should don’t is at least three months before she files N-400.

She needs to stabilize and update her address, license, registration, etc to reflect the state she lives in.  Last thing she needs is to be dinged for not following state law in the middle of N-400.

 

She has to be a legal resident of her state for 90 days before filing.

We will get her updated wth USCIS at once.
