Unclaimed DV lottery Winner

Hi All

I recently went for a B1/B2 (Temporary Visitor) visa interview at a consulate general in Canada and the office at the interview asked me if I've applied for a DV lottery. I said I haven't applied in the recent past but have applied sometime back. He said something that I couldn't believe which is that I have won the DV lottery in 2015. I didn't know about this at all ... I'm pretty sure I have checked with my reference number every time the results come out. Anyway my question is, is there anyway I could claim it now ? I can assume the simple answer to this is no but can someone elaborate please.

Any response is much appreciated.

No.

DV are per fiscal year. Just like budgets. Once your year is gone, you're done.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

"Claim it now"?  No.  That was 8 years ago.  It is a one time deal.  You can apply again.

Unfortunately no.

you may have checked it and after you initially checked it your number came up. This can happen if all of the first round of winners do not qualify or come forward. This is why they advise you to keep checking until the cut off date.
