Living abroad as a GC holder

My husband is a federal employee and I’m a GC holder. Currently living on Guam. I would like to move back to Europe for a while then apply for US citizenship.
I was told we could live abroad, maintain residency for me and actually count that time spent overseas as if it were time spent in US. As long as he has official “military orders”. Is this true?

Your husband will be moving to Europe for this federal job? If so,you might be able to apply for expedited citizenship under 319b.

In order to not loose my German citizenship, I may not apply for US citizenship until I have permission from the German government. I do not want to loose my German citizenship so I won’t be applying for US citizenship any time soon.

My question is: if my husband has official work orders, can I live in Europe as a green card holder without loosing LPR?

apply for a reentry permit I-131 which will allow you to stay outside for a long time.
