I fear what the wait will be for us when we apply early next year. The AOS was surprisingly quick for us. But I guess with 48 month extension and the fact you can apply for naturalization 1 year later, it's not the end of the world, just a pain, might as well had AOS result in 3 year GC then naturalization.

Removal of Conditions (I-751)
2/17/24: I-751 packet shipped via FedEx

2/20/24: I-751 packet delivered

2/22/24: Receipt Number available on USCIS Portal

2/27/24: Extension Letter Available Online, Biometric Re-use letter, "Case is being actively reviewed"

You never know. They might actually speed up because of the upcoming 2024 election and start approving newer cases faster. But I doubt that something will change drastically for I-751, I think it might for N-400.

Why is AOS so much faster than I-751?

One reason might be that people adjusting status are not yet permanent residents.  People filing to remove conditions are permanent residents, before, and during, and, for most of them, after removing conditions - it is mostly an administrative annoyance, but does not prevent you to file for citizenship, work, live.
