Extension Letters now being increased to 48 months. (merged)

We just received the new 48 month extension letter replacement in the mail yesterday (3/7/23).

Received the 48 extension notice yesterday. We filed in December 2022. MSC/NBC.

So after getting one of the few 36 month extension letters on January 20 we received new 48 month letters yesterday.

I think its way past time for you to start raising a flag. 

 

They are giving 48 month extensions due to "backlog" but, in my opinion,  that amount of time is based on conservatism where 48 months is worst case scenario. 

 

So yeah......if you haven't already done so, you need start getting aggressive with them to find out what's taking so long.

Right! Every time we’ve called they brush us off and say it’s within the time blah blah. To me our case seems so damn cut and dry that I cannot imagine someone wouldn’t look at it and just approve it to get it out of the way! i know it’s probably not how that works. I did. just send over documents so our state congressman can send over an inquiry. Curious to see what comes of that.

 They are pretty rare. I think they only used them for about two weeks!  I have two, could sell you one.  LOL

 

What I can't figure out is why us, with freshly minted 36 month letters, got new ones literally a month later yet there are people with 24 month letters that are expiring soon that don't have a new one.

My wife has a 24 month extension letter that expires at the end of this year and she got a new 48 month one so I think it's just luck of the draw.

It's the software that produces these letters automatically and indiscriminately. 

 

I got the 24 month one a few weeks after the 18 one. 

Now I'll travel with all of them!
