Hello All,

I have applied for I-130 for my spouse as a US Citizen in November. Received notice from Potomac (12 months processing). I had filed for an expedite due to my parents medical conditions (cancer/etc...) and spouse to spend as much time with them as possible, but the request was declined. Upon the expedite request result, I saw that the case was transferred to Vermont Center.

Not only was the expedite declined, but also bad news it went to a center with slowest processing time. My case is normal - US Citizen, veteran, no criminal history, etc.... How long is the true processing time for the Vermont center? A bit shocked now that I have to wait even longer...

usually when they transfered the case to other service center means they are sharing the backlog case to "lighter" load service center.

hopefully it actually speed up the process.

That's what I am shocked about. I read online it is to share the load - but didn't really make sense as Vermont seems to be the slowest of all and the worst processing time. But fingers crossed!

I am very sorry to hear about your parents and I wish them a recovery!

Unfortunately, this is not a reason why USCIS would expedite your request.

The processing times are not to be fully trusted, but for majority of time, the actual processing times are worse than stated on website. When did you file? If not so long ago, you should brace yourself for few years of wait.

I can tell you that our case was transferred from one USCIS service center to another a few years ago, and it did not delay approval at all.  Good luck on the rest of your journey.
