Hi, I hope someone may kindly be able to offer their advice.

We are completing my AOS after entering on a K1 visa and marrying this year.  Submitted the I485, I797 and I130 by mail on October 17 2022 and got an RFE letter back for the I485.

"You have submitted form I-485 Application to Register Permeant Residence or Adjust Status, and ALL pages of the form are not present or of the same edition date"

We had download the latest form from the USCIS website and sent with a cover letter and all the required additional evidence/information as far as I'm aware. On the phone they couldn't say if the problem was a missing page or wrong edition, and said it could be their error as well...

It is asking us to submit a properly completed and signed form I-485 of the latest edition date.

I have two questions:

The letter states I can either mail the response or scan and upload to my account so we were planning to now submit the response online.

1) Am I correct in assuming an E-signature for form i485 would not be accepted? Am I best to print the form,

sign it, scan every page into a new PDF and upload that?

2) I sent all the supporting evidence/documents for the I485 by mail with the original packet but should I be uploading these evidence/documents again online with my form resubmission?   The RFE just mentions the I485 form and doesn't specify on the other information.

Thank you!

On june i sent an aos package for a friend we got a rfe like you, the letter say all pages were missing, and when i reviewed the form the only problem was that the bar code was missing on the bottom of the pages. I printed again the form with the bar code, my friend and her husband signed again, i scanned  it and uploaded to the uscis account online. My friend was good they approved her aos without interview in just tow month’s.

Thanks.  I wondered if it could be something simple like the full barcode not printing on the bottom of the page.  I wish they'd be a little more specific as I assume they know the specific reason why but they don't put that on the letter.

As the edition of the form has changed since the date I filed I think I'll have to now complete and submit the latest one online and see how that goes. I'll be sure to check the barcode.

Thread is moved from K-1 Process to the "AOS from K Visas" main forum -- topic is AOS.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Review your copies and see if the barcode is missing , in my friend case the form was properly filled but barcode missing, so printed and signed it again, scanned and submitted online and she was fine

Why the I-130?
