Is it better for the petitioner to live in the US.

My wife has petitioned for myself and the kids to go and live in the US.

 

She is an American citizen by birth but lives in the UK. Would it be better if she moved over to the US while this process is ongoing to get things set up?

Better is a subjective term, you could say it would be simpler if she was living in the US, had a job that met the sponsorship requirements.

 

Obviously the totality matters.

Your spouse living here in the US while your visa is being processed would make no difference in the outcome nor would it make it faster. At some point, though, they might want to travel to the US to set up bank accounts, find a place to live, etc etc.

In addition, it is a requirement that they either travel before you or with you when you enter the US.

Maybe read up on domicile requirements.  I'm not sure how fastidious LND is about domicile.

Unfortunately we couldn't get CRBAs for the kids as my wife hasn't had 365 continuous days in the US. Missed out on this by 1 month so the embassy wouldn't allow it to be passed over.
