So who's taking care of the other cat? 🤔

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Is her employer okay with her going on a vacation for 2.5 months? I know we're all talking about the cat, but I can imagine CBP would be skeptical of (a) her not planning on returning to work (especially considering China's random lockdowns) and/or (b) her planning to work remotely in the US (illegal). The length of her trip in light of the attendant circumstances is what would be concerning, IMHO.

Also, just to clarify something: I don't believe CBP even considers whether it would be "humane" to send someone back if their country isn't specially designated. The fact she's coming from China won't, from my understanding, weight at all on CBP's admission decision.

Her employer is fine with her leaving for 2.5 months, she did it before the pandemic when she visited me (very loose company). Her employer will sign whatever paperwork stating when he expects he back in the office. If 2.5 months is too much, I could make it 6 weeks or something. Whatever you guys think is best.

As far as humane CBP goes, I imagine you'd have to be heartless to turn a person away who hasn't seen their fiancée in 2.5 years (specifically due to the USCIS being stupidly slow with their processing times, which is inhumane in itself). We want this visit to help our case when she has her interview in Guangzhou for the K1 Visa, this visit is just more proof for us that our marriage will be legit.

My fiancee has proof of leaving (work statement of expected return/return ticket back to China), not to mention the poor cat that had to fly here, putting the cat immediately on another 18 hour flight might kill it. Also China might not let my fiancee back in immediately due to her being out of the country for such a short period, and possibly being "exposed" to COVID. If the CBP was really busting her chops and my fiancee explained all the consequences of not being let in, and the CBP still decides to turn her away....that's inhumane. I just don't see it happening. My fiancee is well spoken, we have the proof, and our intentions for this visit are pure and valid.

If everyone thinks it's a better idea to just say that it's my cat, and she is returning the cat to me, we could go down that route....

Everyone thinks it is a really bad idea to lie to CBP.

Her parents, we can only fly one cat at a time. And no, we will not be speaking of the other cat to anyone.

So her parents can actually  take care of a cat.  Curiouser and curiouser.....

Brother, this makes little sense:  Why risk the well-being (or life) of one cat while taking another across the ocean to purportedly save it from the fate of the first cat?  Can't you find friends in China who could care for both, or other avenues for care?

And why are you even considering lying to CBP?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

No, it was just interesting to me that you said they couldn't take care of the cat, and now they can take care of the other cat.

I will say the following:  people without immigrant intent (i.e. tourists) do not normally take a pet overseas on vacation.

Do what you will.  You've received good feedback from senior members in this thread.  Ultimately, only you can evaluate your tolerance to risk when it comes to US immigration and doing things right.

A lot of people in this forum give off terrible energy. It's almost like they revel in the sorrow of others......I appreciate constructive criticism but some of you guys are like launching an FBI case into just my fiancee visiting me briefly.

Dude:  you're the one who started the topic on your fiancee visiting you briefly.  Ostensibly to ask for feedback.  Which is what you're getting.....

The lie would be telling CBP it is your cat, and she's "just returning it."   You suggested this, and obviously you know it is not true.

No one knows about the other cat, forget I even mentioned the other cat. You guys are fixated on the other cat staying with her parents. The story is there is one cat and it's too expensive to keep the cat in a pet center during her trip and her parents are incapable of taking care of any animals. Maybe you want 100% truth but that story is fine and nothing wrong with it. I'm not sneaking 5lbs of cocaine up the cat's butt!!
