Joint sponsor who has been a sponsor before

My husband has his visa interview in London in a couple weeks. We want to add a joint sponsor before the interview because it was asked for at the point of our DQ.

The joint sponsor is my father, but he sponsored my mother (a green card holder) decades ago.  Will that be an issue? Can he sponsor again?

Thanks for any guidance!

he can

all depends on household size

your income plus his (rules for the difference so read I 864 instructions)

has his wife become a citizen so the sponsorship for her has ended?

or has she completed 40 quarters of work ?

My household is just me and my husband. My father's household is him, my mother, and my youngest sister.

My mother has worked as a doctor in the US for 20+ years, so she's met the 40 quarters requirement. She has not become a citizen and remains a green card holder.
