Who is waiting for an interview at Jakarta? I am losing hope, because I got DQ'ed on Jun 28th but my case is still at the NVC. I have contacted the embassy and they said they did not receive my file yet.

I've seen lots of timelines of Jakarta embassy people in 2022 that got their interview letter really fast after being DQ'ed. Anyone else waiting as long as I do?

Let's wait together!

Well, hello there, looks like we are in the same boat!

I got DQ on June 14th. 2022 for my CR-1 Visa & still waiting for my P4 letter as well.

I also contacted US Embassy in Jakarta and they replied my email with the same answer as yours: they have no record of my case (and they mentioned also that my petition is still with NVC).

It's been over two months after DQ and still no email or appointment letter yet. Everyday I login into CEAC and checking for new message(s)...and get no new message(s).

I was thinking to call NVC to ask, but last time calling them, they put me on hold almost 2 hours before talking to a live person. Have you tried to call NVC (may be)?

Let's wait together!

Here is how it works:

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interview when case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

6. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.  Sounds like there are cases in front of you in the queue.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

In pre-Covid times, the normal wait time was up to 3 months. Every consulate was impacted by the pandemic.

This is really helpful to get a grasp of what is happening. Even my lawyer didn't explain it this well. Thanks a lot!

I am so happy there is someone else in my situation (sorry that you are also waiting). I saw all these timelines on this site for the same visa in early 2022 getting interview dates really fast, and got really paranoid that something went wrong with my case.

I might wait a week or two longer before calling the NVC. Good luck, and keep me updated if you hear anything, I hope it's really soon!

@Filiawatie I messaged the embassy again asking for a general time frame and this was their reply:

Ms. King,

We still have limited services until October due to staff shortage.

Hopefully we can schedule more appointments in November.

Regards,

Consular Section

I guess at least it explains the reason for the delay. A bit of a bummer though, I was hoping to get scheduled sooner than that 😞

Thanks for the heads up, I guess we have no choice other than waiting.

I have a question:

I know the P4 letter is on its way via regular mail, but are we going to have it via email as well?

Reason I'm asking is, because here in Indonesia you can't be sure with Indonesian Postal Service, many times they are not reliable & lost shipments or mails.

Knowing if we are going to receive an email that is identical to the letter is much better rather than keep waiting & unsure if we are actually going to receive it.

Please advise, thank you!
