K1 Visa Delays: So frustrated and disappointed, I don't know what to do

Waiting 14 months for I-129 approval, plus X months for NVC/embassy interview, imagine then waiting 18 months for an AOS interview (and hoping you get EAD/AP quickly) so you still only get a 2-year green card, and then have to go through the ROC hassle which can take 1-3 years and costs more more money. Unless it's impossible to get married (eg petitioner can't travel to visit, like in the case of China), is there any benefit whatsoever to the K1 nowadays vs a CR1? 

Agree 100%.  and the Utah Zoom marriage route makes the K-1 even less attractive for some couples.

A Utah Zoom marriage is perfectly legal and recognized by USCIS once the couple are in the same location either during or after the wedding ceremony. 

 

In other words, once the marriage is consummated (being in the same place), USCIS will recognize the marriage.  And the marriage will be recognized as of the date the ceremony took place.  You can then start the CR-1 process.

Not difficult at all.  Just meet after the ceremony, then apply.

I've already reached out to my congressperson who tried to expedite the case but it didn't work because now the normal processing times are "15 months", I'm only at 14 months. They just keep pushing back the acceptable processing time......

The fact that USCIS keeps pushing the goalpost forward prevents you from filing a case inquiry with them and insulates them from scrutiny - to an extent. As long as you exhaust your remedies you could have someone file a Petition For Writ of Mandamus. Then USCIS will have to hire a lawyer to defend it and usually they will decide the petition then.

They, sometimes, deny petitions then.  and it will cost a lot of money.  Everyone is in the same boat.

Just letting everyone know I received the I-797 Approval notice in the mail, it is dated 11/23/22. At the end of the day, it took about 14.5 months for the USCIS to process
