Petitioner's Financial & Civil Documents at NVC

I'm at the NVC stage of uploading the documents. I have uploaded following documents so far:

1. Passport Biographic Page

2. Passport Picture under 'Photographs'

3. Birth Certificate

4. Marriage Certificate issued by NADRA

5. National Identity Card under 'Other Documents'

 

For police certificate I clicked on Not Available option and left a comment that it is not required for Pakistani Applicants. Is it ok?

 

My question is what other additional documents do i need to upload other than the above? Please guide if I am missing on any. Do I have to upload the divorce certificate of the petitioner? I'm the beneficiary btw its my first and the only marriage.

Refer to the link below, sections "Marriage Termination Documentation" and "Petitioner's Documents"

You will have to upload documents of any terminated marriage. In this case none for you since you not been married before. Maybe for petitioner if he was previously married.

I think the beneficiary will have to get it but I defer the full answer to someone from the Pakistani forum. So far I have not heard of a country that will not provide one.

Someone correct me if am wrong.

Checked the link. Petitioner's divorce decree will have to be submitted. That will be under the 'other documents' category I believe.

Not required by petitioner as Pakistan is poor at record keeping

BUT this is the reason the embassy puts cases in long long AP (administrative processing ) while they do background checks

so, expect a long AP and delays after the interview

The embassy conducts a background check of the petitioner or beneficiary or both?

For family based applications:

• The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s.

says this about police reports

 

If you are older than 16 years of age:  Police certificates are not required from Pakistan. However, an original police certificate is required from any countries where you previously lived.

I only mentioned above the documents that the applicant has to submit (I am the applicant/beneficiary). Of course, financial documents and AOS are to be submitted too.

Quick question: Tax returns of last three years are to be compiled into one pdf file or three seperate files for each year?

you are either the applicant (petitioner) or the bene but not both

 

only latest tax returns are needed (2020 now)

3 years can help to strengthen your case

 

BTW by time of interview the bene will need new I 864 with IRS transcripts for 2021

Correct me If I am wrong but according to my understanding, Applicant at NVC refers to the beneficiary and not the petitioner.

I don't think it matters, but I would separate.
