Three weeks since we submitted and no action at NVC. I did request expedite because of the war. Other than the proforma response, no response on that. So I am going to assume that Ukraine is not prioritized at NVC and we have to wait the normal 12-14 weeks for NVC processing.

Watch me be wrong AFTER I return to the USA from Frankfurt.

Lol so my temporary stay permit in the EU would run out just for NVC to process the damn papers and put a number on them? Hilarious.

Do you happen to know if 12-14 weeks is accurate for K1 too?

As nearly as I can tell, NVC does not distinguish by visa type. There is something called priority date which may have an impact. Mine is the date I filed my IR1, August 31sr, 2021.

Few days ago I called NVC to get case# and status .. My cause was created on March 23 rd.  They told me that I can send expedite request to them by email . Also they said that due to War at Ukraine, we can transfer case to any US embassy.. Just need to send email to NVC  and request transfer case to another Embassy of your preferences. Then NVC will work directly with that Embassy ..

I spend hours trying to figure out which Embassy to choose .. We ended up with US Embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia ..

But I wonder , if they will allow me to be present at the interview, because my Fiancé  speaks only Ukrainian ..If not , then will they give us translator or would we need to find it ourselves? Does anyone know ?

Someone discussed this on the forum about a week ago I think...You can look it up via search bar or go to the Embassy website, there has to be a section about translators.

Also make sure to translate documents that aren't in English - that would be birth certificate and police certificate if present. Has to be done through certified translator.

Bratislava indicates he is allowed to bring one translator, so you will be allowed in. Sending you a link

How did you make this transfer request? What did you write there?

Well , apparently I send transfer request to incorrect email due to Customer service agent at NVC didn’t instructed me well 😔So NVC send case to Frankfurt .

when I called NVC again , they told me to send email to Slovakia first to see if they will accept transfer. Then once Frankfurt has my case , need to send email to Frankfurt asking them to transfer case to Slovakia ..

I did send email to Slovakia Embassy.. and I just explained that due to Humanitarian crisis and because my fiancé lives were bombing is happening .. also I indicated that it’s safer for fiancé to get to Slovakia border.. Slovakia Embassy replied back with following:

All cases originally scheduled for Kyiv were transferred to US Consulate in Frankfurt., which is primary point of contact.

Once your fiancée will be in Slovakia, he can easily travel to Frankfurt.

If you would like to transfer your case to Slovakia, please contact the US consulate in Frankfurt.

Immigrant Visa (IV) cases that were already approved and pending with U.S. Embassy Kyiv have been automatically transferred to the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt, Germany – the primary consulate handing all Kyiv IV cases. Please email FrankfurtVisaInquiries@state.gov, and use subject line: “C22 - UKRAINE – FULL NAME”.

””

so if you want your case to be transferred somewhere else, make sure you send email to NVC before case gets send yo Frankfurt.

Hello guys! My K1-visa interview is going to be in Frankfurt.

Is it possible to do medical exam in Poland?

Yes, you can do exam at any European country, this exceptional for Ukrainians.. but when I called Poland , waiting time for medical exam is like up to 2 month ..

We scheduled ours at Munich , Germany
