Filed 12/10, just got our notice that the interview is scheduled for 8/31!!!

They told us wife would be using the 2020 version of the civics test, so just hit it! Time to #Study

Hopefully knock it out of the park, get an oath ceremony and go. Couple of questions -

1) Does the sponsor participate in the final interview/questions?

2) After the oath ceremony, how long until you can file for a passport? We have a tripped to Phils scheduled for December and now I am worried we wont get a new passport in time.

Congrats! Can I ask how u know it’s gonna be 2020? I see the note they are gonna give me but I am confused which one I would be doing.

1) Your interview notice will mention who you should/can get along to the interview.
2) You can file the day you have your oath ceremony. Best option will be to expedite the passport application to get it in quickest time which I heard is 5-7 weeks. Not sure about the time though.

If you filed your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, on or after December 1, 2020, and before March 1, 2021, and were scheduled for your initial examination (interview) before April 19, 2021, you may choose to take the 2008 or 2020 civics test as you go through the naturalization process. All others will be required to take the 2008 civics test.

Yep, we saw this as well. In the letter it 100% says we're to take the 2020 test but when you goto the site, your able to take the 2008. Wife is just going to study both but will pick the 2008 test.

The form does tell me who can come with me, it doesn't mention a spouse so I am curious if people are going with their spouse?

Only the person addressed on the form is allowed in.  Unless you are bring your legal representative or interpreter.   You wouldn't want to bring an interpreter if you are trying to pass the English language test.

What does the interview letter say. Most ppl I’ve seen on here that applied under the 3 year rule their usc spouse had to attend but I’m sure your interview letter would say. If unsure contact support

I am finding myself getting extremely anxious and disappointed at the length of this process.  My husband filed December 7, 2021 for his N-400.  The online portal just changed for estimated as "Taking longer than expected". Is anyone else dealing with these delays? It seems like everyone is getting interviews.
