If the fee waiver is denied, will the deadline get extended?

My wife's GC expires on October 9th. I am going to send the I-751 package today. We are requesting a fee waiver.
My questions is: If the fee waiving request gets denied, and the package is sent back to us, do we get an extension on the GC automatically?
Since we are filing super late (10 days before the GC expiration), I am thinking to just send a check.
What are your thoughts?
Thank you

No.  You must submit a proper (accepted) I-751 package to receive the extension letter.  Send a check!!!!

If it is rejected, you will have to file again and pay. I heard that it is only guaranteed if your income was indeed below 150% of poverty at time of filing, otherwise it is not guaranteed. If I were in your shoes, I would just add the check because you are very tight on time, and you don't want to risk getting denied and missing the 90 day window to refile.

If a check is sent, can the fee waiver request be sent with the application?

Or will the check be cashed and the waiver request denied or ignored? Or waiver review and check not cashed?

If check is cashed and waiver approved, is refund sent out?

I think they would disregard the fee waiver request and attempt to cash the check.  It seems to me that sending a check would signal that funds for the fee are available.
