Hi there! I hope everyone is doing well ☺️ I am a US Citizen and my fiance is from Egypt. I have been divorced and currently, to get married in Egypt it's a long process of apostille, registering in Egypt, etc. As Egypt is not part of the Hague Convention.

 

Because of this, we are entertaining online marriage and then I will fly to Egypt the following two weeks to be together. (Have been 4 times prior). 

 

I know many have strong opinions regarding online marriage. However, I would love to hear anyone's experience and opinions ☺️

I agree.  I did it directly through the Utah County clerk and it was very easy and they were helpful.

Personally, I would wait until you are together to get married that way there is no need to prove that it was later consummated.

            Do you know if the American embassy in Cairo will accept an online marriage?  I don't know much about it but am wondering if other Cairo filers have gotten the CR 1 visa that way, do you know?

Yes they are accepted by USCIS (if consummated) and the consulate will accept it.

Go for it!  The only thing is you can't file until you are in Egypt.  I wish I would have done it too instead of waiting to get married in Costa Rica!  Best of luck!

One thing to note about WebWeb is they are essentially just officiating for a Utah County marriage at rather high prices.  The Utah County clerks office does nice ceremonies for $35
