Already have the plans. When the soon to be Mrs SqdnGuns gets here, we'll stay for at least 5 years then we will head back to Thailand, the Issan region to be specific. We have plenty of land and buying more, have a huge lot for the house we want to build.

I don't know anything about Thailand as far as owning property goes. You say WE own plenty of land. Are you the legal owner.

Same in Thailand as the Philippines.........the "99" year lease. All of the land is in her name, 40 Rai (1 rai = 0.395 acres) and we will be buying more.

Retire young, move to Australia/NZ till we get bored then move to the Med. My SO wants to open an English pub in a tourist town there... We'll see hehe!

I agreed to retire in Egypt, specifically on the coast in Alexandria since I cannot be far from the ocean as I grew up right on it, but I do worry about healthcare issues as we age.

We'd like to move back to Scotland in the next 10 years-our son will be grown, and hopefully have his own life going in a good direction and my in-laws will be of the age where they may need our assistance-which I would do GLADLY. They are wonderful people, and deserve nothing but the best life has to offer.

I'd also love to be up north and have a farm. It's been my dream to have one since I was about 8 years old. Maybe some sheep or goats-for wool and milk. No slaughtering. Maybe some pigs too, but they'd have to be our pets.

I voted I have no idea. I'm not sure where I'd like to retire but my husband's country may be a possibilty. If it's up to him it will be a definite. He wants to live near the sea in Alexandria, Egypt.
