Spouse visa errors

I’m so upset. I was noticing how my case tracker number kept changing. It said approved and sent to NVC.  So I called uscis to check and they said this isn’t your approved, letter it’s someone else’s. This whole time I thought it was me and i have been waiting. Now someone else will call me to discuss this, Also they said now it takes about 30 months. Im so bummed out. How it all went messed up & everything. Please help & tell me how long it all takes.

So you received a paper approval notice with someone else’s name on it, and did not notice?

your case was dated just this past March 2021 so am sorry to say you have a considerable wait time ahead of you 

no one can say with any certainity when USCIS will finish the 1st stage of this process

but to interview stage you are looking at next year 

it would help you to be patient and keep the chats between you and your spouse romantic (at this point) and not think of the immigration process on a daily basis (that will drive you crazy)

 

there is nothing you can do unless you receive an RFE so  waiting is the norm

No i didn’t , i was waiting on the notice. So I called to check and got to know my app wasn’t right

I agree with you, but it was just a bummer because. My app showed something else and they messed up so i had my hopes up. You know what I mean? Also, how long does approval take, if it’s almost next year?

Ah.   Well, yes, if you input the wrong receipt #, you’ll likely get someone else’s case.

The apps are not affiliated with USCIS- you know that, right?

No, what I mean is i logged into the app with my original correct number but the app would keep changing the last digit as it updates. But got to know it was never mine it was someone elses: idk if the app had a error or whatever

There is no USCIS app.   If you are logging into an app, it is a third party product.

 

USCIS only has their website.

Impossible.  You had to put a receipt number in the app.

approval from USCIS is only an approval that all the documents that are needed have been submitted 

even this stage can be extended because a country uses the same name over and over (as may have happened in your case)

examples would be Mohammed ,  Adil and any form of allahxxxxxx in islamic counties 

India has lots with last name of Patel

 

it would help the VJ community to know the country you deal with

 

and would help you to hit the word portal above and read the posts and embassy reviews from the country you deal with

 

at this time we can only say USCIS and NVC have continued to work thru the pandemic with staff limitations because of this illness

but the embassies are behind in interviews with long wait times for the backup of petitions

Not impossible when I originally put it it was my number but once it started updating, it changed and haven’t touched. the app lol, i have no reason to lie.

Yes it’s pakistan the country my husband is in.  its an anxious period of time.

Yes it’s pakistan the country my husband is in.  its an anxious period of time.

Then the wait will be longer 

no one can tell you but be ready to file your 2021 taxes as soon as you can next spring and get the IRS transcripts as soon as IRS completes your return as that will be needed

then you need a lot and i mean a lot of patience as most Pakistans go thry an extended wait time for extra security checks

 

it is a anxious time for everyone on here 

and all anyone can do is answer your questions about the immigration process 

and try to answer other questions but those might only be our opinions
