Update on Entry to the Philippines

There was a call with USEM and BI concerning the  PI Immigration situation.  For US citizens that want to go back to the PI, for now the only way is if you have a Philippine's spouse or have a biological child that is also a Philippine citizen.  The problem is, you must travel back with them on the same flight so if they are in the PI, you wont be able to go.  Also, you will need an existing visa.

For the US citizens who are already in the PI and contemplating going back to the US, most likely you will not be able to get back in for quite some time.  They did not say how long that would be, but it came across as being for an extended period of time.

Also, international flights are extremely limited as of now.  They are still only allowing 1500 passengers a day to come through Manila and some type of restriction may be made for Cebu and Clark in the future.  The 1500 through Manila is through April 30th, but possible this will be extended.  Will depend on alot of different factors.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

How do they justify not allowing US citizens to return to the United States?

Sorry, should have made it more clear.  If you are in the PI now and you want or need to go back to the US, its most likely you will not be able to get back into the PI for quite awhile.  It was a call where BI was taking questions that US citizens had and was arranged in conjunction with USEM.

I know there are some who post in this section who are in the K1 or CR1 process and living in the Philippines.  Some have contemplated going back to the US soon.

Also, this was a call strictly focusing on PI immigration.  It had nothing to do with US immigration.

I see the US is giving million and million of US Dollars to Philippine in the name of COVID.

And the Philippine will not let US Citizens enter the Philippines.

US should ban all citizens from PI unless they have a child or spouse in the USA

Make this thing fair, Now the Philippines is begging for vaccines from the USA.

That 1500 entry limit is a deathblow for anyone trying to get into the Philippines.  I hear they have a pretty large fine if the airlines goes over the daily limit.

Yes, I see that the Philippines wants to "borrow" the AstraZeneca vaccine that isnt approved yet in the US.  We all know what "borrow" means. :)  Just shows the desperation of the situation when a country is willing to inject its citizens with a vaccine that is still being scrutinized.

I don't see how the US gov't would care who the Philippines lets in or doesn't, particularly during Covid.

PAL at least believes the limit only applies to Manila as they redirected some flights to Cebu before going on to Manila.

I dont know the fine for airlines in the Philippines, but I was on a call today with Fragomen and they mentioned that airlines face a fine of 30K to 60K Euros per passenger if they allow someone to enter the EU or Schengen area and they are not supposed too.  Most airlines will take a very conservative approach because of this and may not allow certain passengers to board.  I could see airlines flying into the Philippines taking a similar approach, whether its for a 1500 person limit or whether someone has the correct visa to enter.
