The NVC reviews expedite requests on case by case basis and then forward it to the embassy for a decision if the reason for expedite request meets the criteria. But sometimes, the NVC replies without sending it to the embassy. Because it is case by case review there is no specific answer.

If the NVC sent the case to the embassy they usually send an email like this:

Dear Sir/Madam:

We are reviewing your request for expedited processing of this immigrant visa petition. We will notify you with the results when the review is complete.

Please note that only the U.S. Embassy or Consulate has the ability to approve or deny expedite requests

So I called NVC last night and they said that it was the embassy that had put our expedite request into AP? Not really sure what’s going on - especially since we haven’t been interviewed yet. So stressful!

Yes! The process is not fun at all. Since February 2021 there has been a lot of visa issuance at almost all Embassies. I hope everyone waiting for long time get their interview schedule soon.

Hi, how to expedite my kids case on medical grounds?..F2A DQ'ed on August 2020, Islamabad Embassy.

Hi

You should send a detailed email to NVC at nvcexpedite.gov with all proofs that you have. Depending how busy the NVC and Embassy are it generally takes anywhere between 14days and a month.
