Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone is having the same problem as me. My CR1 visa interview was supposed to be in the Dublin Embassy in January but was cancelled because of Covid. I now have an interview next Wed 24th March but they have said that I'll need a new police certificate - The Garda told me it was valid for 12 months. I've been back in touch with the Garda Station and they said it could take 3 weeks for the new certificate so it's looking like I won't have it for my interview. Will they accept the document after interview do you think or will I just be refused?

Also I have to bring my medical report but the earliest the Mater Private could give me was the day before the interview so it's unlikely that they'll have the results in time.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Thank you

This is a common situation.  Attend the interview as scheduled.  You will receive a 221g for the missing documents.

Can I ask when did you get it made? We got ours in Oct 20, want to be certain if it's valid for 12 months or 6 months?

We got the certificate at the end of July. They say it went out of date in January but when I looked at the website https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html it said that police certificates last 1 year. It's all very confusing!

Thats very strange, it should be valid for 12 months. But thanks very much for the update, can I also ask if there's a 'current' timeline on validity of medical?

It's 6months for medicals

I haven't received any medical report yet from material private.

I contacted them and they told me its online.

We send the report in electronic form.

Has anyone know better????

We had the same thing happen to us. Just get the new police certificate. They are valid for a year but the embassy wants it to be no less than 6 months old. It doesn’t cost anything and you should have it in less than a week. They also told my husband it would be 3-4 weeks and he had it in 5 days.

Thanks so much... it was all sorted the next day thank goodness. Even though the Garda said it could be three weeks, it arrived in the post the following day.

I think the medical results are sent electronically now. I have mine on Tuesday and have my MMR vaccine records but couldn’t get hold of my BCG - I hope that’s not a problem. It’s very hard to get anyone at The Mater visa clinic over the phone to check anything with.

The best of luck with your interview on Tuesday :-)

@CarolineEddie Do you mind my asking, when was your interview date assigned? Also, good luck with your interview! Please report your experience when you're done, if that's alright with you ✌️

👐

We got notified of the new date on 26th of March (Previous cancelled date had been 21st of January). I will definitely let you know how I get on. The doctor at the medical today  told me today that they won’t be able to approve anything tomorrow as medical results will take a couple of weeks.

Should I take this to mean February? 😉 That sucks about the medical, I would have thought with the electronic transferring that the turnaround time would be lesser too. Real shame. I guess you had a good experience at the Medical though, so that's one more hurdle you've cleared!

Thanks for engaging, we have all been waiting to hear some good news!

So, this means, as soon as you get an interview date, medical should be the top priority to get over with.

Good luck for 26th!!
