Curious how long I should be waiting to hear that the Phoenix Lockbox (for the California Service Center) has received our I-751 package. I included a G-1145 Petition Acceptance form and proper payment via G-1450.

When we submitted original immigration docs in 2017, we got the notice of acceptance within a week. It’s been nearly three weeks now and I’m a little concerned about what to do when March 10 hits (current green card expiration) if we don’t have the extension letter...

I'm not sure what you mean by "for the California Service Center".  It seems extension letters are taking as long as several weeks to several months.  If you sent the package inside the 90 day window, signed the documents correctly, and submitted correct payment, the letter is likely just slow like everything associated with immigration these days.  Even if the extension letter doesn't arrive by March 10th, the green card holder's status as a legal resident does not expire.  If evidence of status is required for travel or work, you can get an appointment for a stamp in your passport.

Thank you, LuckyCat. My wife will be happy to know that no goon squad will hunt her down due to an expired GC!🤣🤣

Currently we don’t mail the I-751 package direct to the California Service Center which is the center that handles these petitions from those living in California. We were directed to submit it to the Phoenix Lockbox Facility.

As of yet, they have not processed payment or acknowledged package receipt so that’s what was concerning us, i.e. lost in the mail or something...

It currently takes at least 6-8 weeks on average to get a NoA. Some people have experienced longer than that. As for the notification of acceptance, I didn't get a text notification until after I received my paper NoA. I literally laughed out loud because of the reversed order when I finally received the text. As of yesterday, I got my biometrics waiver and fingers crossed, things go smoothly for your wife's ROC.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Just because you're in California doesn't necessarily mean that the California Service Center will handle your case.

Did you simply mail your i751 package or did you ship it via UPS or Fedex? If you can track your package to see when it was delivered that would be great.

Keep checking to see if your check was cashed or card was charged, when you see USCIS has received payment you will know your application was accepted.

It is taking three to six weeks for the lockbox facility to process an i751 application. Some recent applicants have waited up to 2 months to receive their receipt notice from USCIS.

https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-lockbox-updates "As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, an increase in filings, current postal service volume and other external factors, you may experience a delay of four to six weeks in receiving your receipt notice after properly filing an application or petition with a USCIS lockbox. These delays will not affect the receipt date which is determined pursuant to 8 C.F.R. 103.2(a)(7). Delays may vary among form types and lockbox locations."
