Hello,

Does anyone know if there is fee when trying to expedite a case at NVC?

I can't imagine that there is a fee for the expedite simply because you write them an email. As far as I know there is no form available for the expedite so I'm pretty sure there is no fee included. I'm guessing here though

Congratulations to those already approved. I’m hoping my approval will come this week.

I hope so!

In the 51000–51499 range alone 30 were processed today (and another ~30 in the 49000–49999 range) A bunch of those are 2/8 and 2/9 and earlier. I'll post the updates to the spreadsheet in the morning. I usually wait until their working day is done to go through it (so after about 10 p.m. ET) or I do it when I wake up :)

Has anyone ever expedited their case for medical reasons? Does anyone know what information from doctor's is need for that? I was hoping to have been approved already and to apply to expedite NVC. I have to plan for an invasive surgery and would be better off with my fiance taking care of me... it's a long story.

I’ve been reading about expedites and I think it has to be a life or death situation. If you have no one to care for you and it could cause a turn for the worse that might work. Your doctor could name the surgery and explain the dangers and that he is your only option for caregiver. I had lung surgery but my insurance paid for nurses to come only 2 times a week. I got very very sick after that surgery. I was in bed for a month with no one to take care of me. Try and request an expedite all they can do is say yes or no. It will not hurt your case.
