POE Review: Boston
Event Description
Entry Date : 2022-03-04
Embassy Review : After landing in Boston and exiting the plane, and arriving at immigration, I did not wait in the line but proceeded directly to the counter after they asked if I was KI visa. I spoke to one man and one woman at the counter. They asked for my passport and for my yellow packet, which I handed to the woman. Then, the woman opened the packet and looked at all the documents, reviewed my passport and stamped it. Then, the woman waved, and said goodbye to me. Then, I said thank you and asked which way to go and was able to navigate to baggage claim nicely.

Overall, very pleasant experience! The security guards were very helpful and extremely nice. There were other short checkpoints after the immigration counter, but each stop involved them looking at my passport and wishing me congratulations on my K1 Visa.

My Fiancée and her family were very shocked to learn that I was through immigration so fast. From touch down to baggage claim was about 25 mins.

Good luck to all!

I see you filed in 2021 I did 2020 but you got your NOA2, is there anything you did to speed this up like call them? thanks
Patou & Kashou on 2021-10-23 said:
I did not call at all, but if you have filed since 2020, you should be calling everyday and submitting a case inquiry to USCIS. This is way out of the normal processing time.

Have you gotten an NVC case number yet?
Patou & Kashou on 2021-10-28 said:
I just got it today! I’ll be updating this very soon!
Patou & Kashou on 2021-11-01 said:
Paying the Pakistan visa fee is quite an ordeal, be ready to pay in person to get the earlier options for interview times. There is a bit of waiting involved in the process.
blank avatar Maz23 on 2021-11-01 said:
Oh you can't pay it online? Where do you have to go to pay in-person?
Patou & Kashou on 2021-11-01 said:
You will have to go to the bank they work with. Check the embassy website for these specific details now.
Furqanjadi on 2021-11-16 said:
Hello did you wait to receive packet 3.5 before scheduling for an interview. If yes, how long did it take for you to receive the packet 3.5?
Patou & Kashou on 2021-11-16 said:
We did not wait for packet 3.5. What is packet 3.5? We just did everything electronically according to the directions on CEAC and US travel docs website.

When you paid your fee for the interview where is the receipt number
Patou & Kashou on 2021-12-05 said:
The receipt number is just your Pak ID number. Once the fee is paid it is coordinated with your application and the Pak ID then it just works… it’s odd…
blank avatar Maz23 on 2022-02-18 said:
Can you please update with what they asked in the interview?
BurgerSb on 2022-02-19 said:
the nvc created my case number and sent an email mentioning they will send it to the embassy its been 10 days should i wait for the embassy to reach out to me or just book the appointment from cgi federal ?

Any update on ur AP?
Patou & Kashou on 2022-02-22 said:
@Maz23 Will write the interview review this week, but short story is that is was very, very simple. @BurgerSb You want to watch out for an FTC email from the Embassy with links and the prompt for you to schedule interview, medical exam, etc. At this point, with a case number, you can complete the DS-160 carefully and correctly. You must submit that form before you can schedule, interview, medical, etc. @Waiting678 Our latest update for AP was today, without a known inquiry. I did reach out to my state rep and they notified me a few weeks ago that a request to expedite was made by them to NVC due to my current medical conditions. Which dates and if the NVC has received their inquires are unclear to me at the moment. We don't have much ideas as to why we are in AP, but that we since that this is expected based on our case demographics.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
